Matthew Sandahl (b. 1991) is a composer from Glastonbury, Connecticut. He is currently pursuing a PhD in music composition at UC Berkeley under the instruction of Ken Ueno, Franck Bedrossian, Cindy Cox, and Edmund Campion. He received his BM in composition at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music where he studied under Suzanne Farrin, Du Yun, and Huang Ruo. He has participated in master classes with Bernard Rands, Jérôme Combier, William Bolcom, Alvin Lucier, and George Lewis. His works have been performed at Symphony Space and the Stone in New York City, the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine, and the HighScore music festival in Pavia, Italy. His music has been performed by Splinter Reeds, ECO Ensemble, Kyle Bruckmann, 15.19 Ensemble, Purchase New Music Ensemble, and the Iktus Percussion Quartet.
